A Winter Shed? Be Prepared for Winter.

12/2/2016

Winter in New England is a hit or miss event. Some years we buried in snow, while others bring warm weather a just the occasional speckle of snow. This year, forecasters are predicting that La Nina, the cold winter sister to El Nino, is going to splatter us with a thumping of snow storms. Even though we know the weather can be a tricky thing to predict, it is always better to be safe than sorry.
One of the easiest and cost effective ways to get ready for winter is with a new storage shed. Here at Salt Spray, we build year round and although our business is weather dependent, we don’t stop building just because we enter a new season. A new storage shed is the best place to create easy access to your snow blow, shovels, pet friendly snow melt, and even the fun stuff, like sleds and skates.

We have a variety of shed options and designs to meet every budget. We work together with every client to ensure that a new building works not only in the winter, but through every season. For example, for the winter you may need storage but in the summer, you may want to turn your new building into a bunk house for visitors or grandkids. Whatever the idea, the reason, or the concept, the design team at Salt Spray can help make it a reality.

Designs and Styles
We have three design styles that are very popular for winter or garden storage, theMartha’s Vineyard Loft, Even Pitch, and Salt Box. The three styles start as small as 6’x6’ and go up from there. There is no limit on the size. All three offer different features, like loft storage, ranch style or Salt Box roof pitch. All three start with kiln dried, board and batten siding, designed to hold up against the changing New England Climate.

Historic, Matching the House, Something a Little Different
If you are searching for something with a few extras, we have you covered. The Edgartown and Cape Cod Cottage’s and the Nantucket Boathouse are magnificent structures that have a long list of upgraded features. For example, the Nantucket Boathouse comes standard with higher head room, making it the perfect space for outdoor entertaining. The Cape Cod Cottage features a higher pitched roof and double hung windows, which allows you to bring air and light to the building creating a backyard building perfect for relaxing or for guests. No matter what the style, price range, or ideas you have about a new building, we can make it happen.

Tiny House Dreams
Before tiny houses, were tiny houses, we were building them as cottages or guest quarters. We have such a variety of styles, standard and optional features, and upgrades, we can help turn you tiny house into reality. There is no limit to making the idea of a tiny house come to life. Although we aren’t currently building on trailers, we are building, year round, on cement slabs and insulated floor frames. Now is the time to start thinking about your Spring and Summer guests.
