Building Materials

Salt Spray Sheds starts every accessory building with pressure treated floor joists, 16" on sheds. The floor plywood is 3/4" CDX Exterior Grade Plywood — we do not use any pressed wood or flooring designated as sub-floor". We use exterior grade plywood to create a solid base for anything you may want to store in your new custom shed. 
For the past 20 years, we have work to use locally sourced materials and family owned businesses (vs. imported products). All of buildings sheds, barns, garages, come standard with an impressive list of features to help make your building secure and long lasting.

Written Warranty

Salt Spray Sheds warranties structural soundness for a period of 10 years from the completion date of your structure with proper maintenance. This warranty does not cover neglect, alterations, natural disasters, wind damage or accidents or misuse.

*Roof shingles are guaranteed for a period of 30 years.
**Windows are covered by the manufacturers warranty.
***Custom doors and other custom features must be painted or treated on all six (6) sides for warranty
to be valid.

 Why are your sheds built on-site instead of delivered pre-built like some competitors?
We build on-site to ensure a perfect fit for your property and foundation. Unlike companies that deliver pre-built or panelized sheds, our structures are built from the ground up using real lumber, giving you a stronger, longer-lasting shed that withstands New England’s harsh weather.

Do you use particleboard or engineered flooring?No. We only use fully dimensional kiln-dried pine and real wood siding – no particleboard, OSB flooring, or engineered materials that may fail over time. Your shed is an investment, and we build it to last. 

What makes your siding better than sheds with clapboard installed directly over framing?
Some competitors skip proper sheathing and install clapboard directly onto the frame, which compromises structural integrity. We build with solid walls and add your choice of real wood siding, ensuring durability, insulation, and protection.

What should I know about shed material warranties? Many products advertise warranties of up to 50 years, but the fine print often tells a different story. For example, some warranties reduce coverage by 2.2% each year after the first five years, exclude labor costs, and include extensive limitations that make claims difficult.

Are there hidden limitations in shed flooring warranties?
Yes. Some companies market their flooring as having long-term warranties, but in reality, the coverage is voided if the flooring gets any moisture on it – even from typical use with a lawn mower or wheelbarrow. Always ask for the full warranty terms before making a decision.
