Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Cape Cod Cottage?
A Cape Cod Cottage is handcrafted to resemble the same characteristics that can be found across New England with features like a lower, broader framed building, with a 10/12. 40° pitched roof. It is offered in standard sizes with a long list of upgraded features.
What is a Salt Spray Shed?
Salt Spray offers six styles of accessory buildings/sheds. They are the Cape Cod Cottage, Edgartown Cottage, Even Pitch, Martha's Vineyard Loft, Nantucket BoatHouse, and Salt Box. Although we have specific designs, every building we create is customized to meet your needs. That may be changing the door style or installing your windows, but whatever it is, our goals is to create a building that fits into your needs, not the other way around.

Does a Ramp Come Standard with Every Door?
Yes, every door, including custom doors, comes standard with a ramp. The only exception is for building that will be built on a slab. Unfortunately, they can't not properly accommodate a slab.
How Far from the truck can you build?
We arrive at your property with a truck of lumber to build your new accessory structure. If the location that you would like us to build is further than 24 feet from where we can park the box truck there will be a carry charge.
To determine if the location is further than 25 feet we encourage you to walk from where you would like us to park the truck, count how many steps you’ve taken and times that by two. If you are still not sure we welcome you to send us a short video or we can arrange for a site visit to verify the distance between the truck and the building location.
What if I need a custom size building?
We are pleased to offer special pricing for custom-sized products; please provide your desired dimensions and specifications, and we will promptly prepare a personalized quote for you.
